- Provide Molecular diagnosis of biohazard groups 1 – 4 pathogenic diseases.
- Provide research platform for Conventional and Real Time Polymerase Chain Reactions (PCR): Gel electrophoresis, Nucleic acid (RNA/ DNA) extraction, DNA & RNA sequencing, Enzyme Immunoassays (EIA), Immunochemistry assays, Nucleic Acid and Protein quantification.
- Train students to be self-reliant in the field of Molecular Biology.
- Produce students who are adequately prepared for molecular biology research.
- Produce molecular biologists who can readily impart their knowledge to students at lower levels of education.
- Develop self-confidence in handling molecular biology equipment, with minimal or no supervision.
